Overate during the Holidays? We feel your pain! If shedding those extra 5lbs. you seemed to gain over the Holidays is stressing you out, Palm Beach Athletic Wear is here to help! We’ve scoured the Globe for a New Year’s Eve cocktail recipe that will get you through your New Year’s Eve and 2013 in health (It’s low cal and big on taste). But, of course, moderation is key to any healthy celebration!
How to eat healthy after the holiday celebrations have passed? Healthy eating can be as difficult or as easy as you decide to make it! We love lean chicken breasts grilled up with a side of veggies. One staffer practically eats this every other day for dinner! For her, it never seems to get old -She is always adding new spices and grilling up new veggie mixes. If your just starting the Paleo diet for 2013, stick to lean meats, seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables and steer clear of processed foods. Processed foods, in general, are not good for any healthy diet!
To kick start your 2013 New Year, Palmbeachathleticwear.com wants to help you stick to your fitness routine, healthy eating and overall, well living. Shape.com Winter Snap Drink Recipe
Shape.com has an amazing tasting (alcoholic) cocktail they call, Winter Snap, which tastes exactly like a ginger snap cookie! Treat this drink as your dessert during New Year’s Eve… This sweet treat can help you ring in the New Year with a little spice and a snap!

Ingredients
1 | oz | ginger syrup* |
1 | oz | Curaçao liqueur |
1 1⁄2 | oz | spiced syrup** |
1 1⁄2 | oz | organic vodka like Square One |
ice |
Instructions
*To make the ginger syrup mix, we used a juicer. We juiced a tablespoon size portion of fresh ginger and replaced the sugar in Shape.com’s mix for 1 Truvia packet. To read how Shape.com makes their ginger syrup concoction, visit their recipe page here: http://bit.ly/WinterSnap
**To make the spiced syrup, we mixed 1 oz. of water with half a packet of Truvia. Let the mixture sit in a closed container with 2 cloves and a dash of cinnamon to infuse the “syrup” with flavor. Remove cloves and stir before adding to the drink. Shape Magazine made their spiced syrup with sugar. To read how they made their spiced syrup, go here: http://bit.ly/WinterSnap
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with grated nutmeg and cinnamon. Their version is 16o calories per drink, however, we’ve modified the sugar content, using Truvia instead of sugar, so chances are, this drink won’t clock in at 160 calories (probably more like 100 calories)!
