Florida Flow Fest 2013

Come celebrate the Flow Arts with us this Friday-Sunday, Nov. 1,2,3 in Lake Worth, Florida.  We are so very excited to be a part of this awesome weekend full of flow arts, new friendships and a fun filled weekend of memories.

What are the Flow Arts?

“Flow arts are forms of movement and dance that utilize props to enter a state of flow, described by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi as an exhilarating transcendent way of being in which effortless control and peak skill seem to erase a sense of time. Flow arts props include poi, staff and hoops; dancers manipulate props to add to the expressive qualities of their dance. The result is an awe-inspiring visual spectacle of improvised movement that inspires an audience to reconsider kinetic possibilities.” ~FloridaFlowFest.com

What type of Flow Arts will I see and/or be able to participate in at this year’s event?

Workshops in the areas of Prop Manipulation such as, Hoop Dance, Juggling, Poi and Staff Spinning.

Forms of Dance such as, Bellydance, African Dance, Capoeira and Breakdance.

Yoga and Acro Yoga will run simultaneously, giving participants as many as 3 different dance and flow arts workshop opportunities at any given time.  This allows novice participants the option of sampling different skills sets and styles, and maintains the rigor of depth within each form for expert dancers looking to sharpen their skills. International touring master instructors in each field are thrilled to bring their movement workshops to Lake Worth for Florida Flow Fest!

Palm Beach Athletic Wear will have 2 tents at this years event.  We will have a HUGE selection of yoga and active-wear including a FULL selection of Bluefish Sport and Onzie clothing along with many other brands like Spiritual Gangster, Protokolo, Binka and more.  We will also have jewelry designer Angelica Smith along with her AMAZING jewelry and one-of-a-kind pieces.  Shop our tent or just stop by to say hello and introduce yourself.  We will have giveaways and other fun stuff for all 3 days of the event.
